With so many fabulous cat dresses available these days for grown-up cat ladies, it’s no surprise that cat-themed fashions would start to show up in the latest doll clothes. I mean, why not start the young cat lovers out with a sense of style? I wish these cool kitty doll clothes were around when I was a girl!
I remember quite vividly playing with my Barbie dolls, carefully coordinating their outfits, pretending to be a fashion consultant. I also remember when my cat chewed up all my Barbie hands. Of course, today I realize that was probably because of a lack of environmental enrichment for my cat. Now I know better.
What I found most interesting as I searched for these tiny fashion finds was how seriously stylish they all are. They’re not cutesy or sappy, but rather quite hip and chic, but still appropriate for a young audience. There are lots to choose from, but these are my favorites.
These two Barbie doll dresses are so stylish, I would actually wear them! Both are handmade (as are all these examples) with miniature fabric prints. The black and white print is from My Little Doll Boutique for $8, and the red-and-white Hello Kitty dress is from All 4 U, $8 or $11 with a crocheted purse.
Some styles are more whimsical, like these three examples, which would be perfect for a cat lady tea party or maybe an afternoon at the cat cafe! Black-and-white polka dots paired with a pink Hello Kitty print make a sweet party dress from My Little Doll Boutique for $7. A delicate pale pink fabric with tiny black cats is used in this lovely dress made for a Japanese Blythe doll from Tea For Party, $25. And colorful graphic cats adorn this strapless sundress, also from My Little Doll Boutique, $8.
Some of the mini fashions have a bit more sass, like this hot pink little number with black cats and a matching purse from My Doll Outfits for $10, or this little black jumper dress with glowing cat eyes from Lovely Woods for $15.
Barbie’s also getting in on the cat shirt craze with these two adorable mini T-shirts, both from Pinkscroll for $8.75.
