I’m all about the stocking stuffer. I go to sleep on Christmas Eve, and the next morning my fuzzy red sock is crammed with a seemingly infinite amount of little treasures. At my house, we wrap every single stocking stuffer, even if it’s a pack of gum. That might seem silly to some, but it totally extends the present-opening experience. Within the mystery stocking is a collection of wee mystery packages. The whole business is so mysterious. Just like Santa.
In addition to the candy, pens, notepads, and more candy that land in my stocking on Christmas morning, I always have at least a few kitty-themed trinkets. Score! Santa really knows me.
Here are 10 fun, cat-themed items you might want to ask Santa to slide into your stocking this holiday season.
1. Cone Kitty air freshener ($3.50)
What says “fresh air” better than a cat in a cone of shame? The silly folks at Archie McPhee have done it again with this 4-and-a-half-inch-tall kitty that hangs from a car’s rearview mirror. A commute buddy that inspires guilt and suffering! Well, he’s pretty cute.
Who needs a pinecone air freshener when you can have a cat-cone one?
2. Kitty egg mold ($10)
Sunny side up? How about funny side up? Oh, man — this silicone egg mold is all kinds of delightful! Urban Outfitters knows what entertains us, and this breakfast treat certainly fits the bill. Plus, it’s dishwasher safe! And cat eggs!
3. It’s Raining Cats socks ($12)
Sock It to Me offers a wide variety of whimsical goodies, including these It’s Raining Cats socks. Everyone knows most cats don’t like to get wet, so carrying an umbrella makes perfect sense, right? Also, who doesn’t need more cat socks?
4. Colorful Paws earbuds ($9.95)
Not only are these earbuds absolutely adorable, they come from the Animal Rescue Site, which means every purchase funds food for shelter animals. Win-win! Oh, and the buds come with a little keyring bag, which means you’ll always be ready for tunes. Win-win-win!
5. Cat Solo magnet ($5)
Jenny Parks is one of the coolest illustrators out there, and her Star Wars-themed art happens to strike when the Empire’s hot. Harrison Ford is cute and all, but this tuxie looks extra tough and super squee-worthy.
May the furs be with you.
6. Cat spreaders ($10.67)
Spread the kitty love and spread the cheese with this set of cat spreaders. They’re the perfect addition to any party and are guaranteed to make your guests jealous of your feline serving-style.
7. 3D-cat playing card set ($8)
It’s never a gamble to drop this deck of kitty cards into someone’s Christmas stocking. We can all use a few more 3D cats in our lives, even if most of them are total jokers. Thanks, Urban Outfitters!
8. As You Purr hairpin set ($14.99)
Modcloth is known for offering some of the sweetest, hippest cat-themed goodies on the Web. This set of three hairpins is no exception. Every cat lover wants little gold cats nesting in their hair. I know I do. Meow.
9. Kit-Tea Infuser ($13.95)
Another Animal Rescue Site find, this silicone diffuser looks like a kitten enjoying a hot tub inside a warm cup of tea — else he’s trying to climb out of the cup. But either way, how can you resist? And remember — with every Animal Rescue Site purchase, you fill shelter pets’ bellies!
10. Cat coin purse ($7.99)
Triple T Studios features some of the most charming products, and these big-eyed cat coin purses are right on the money. No worries — these kitties will have no trouble keeping an eye or two on your sweet moolah. Plus, there’s a handy zipper closure just in case.
